This command is best taught after your dog has had some exercise and is ready to relax. He must be able to lay down on command, and it helps if you've been working with rollover as well. STEP 1. Give your dog the "down" command first. STEP 2. Command "BANG" and gently push your dog over on his side and hold him there for 2 seconds (you can extend the time as he gets better at this). STEP 3. Reward and praise him! STEP 4. Repeat the steps above, working your physical help out of the equation. (Don't forget your hand signal for this or any of your other commands!) Other Cool Tricks...
