You may have a problem with this if your dog has never barked before or won't do so at all now.
However, don't give up until you're absolutely sure he won't utter a sound. There may still be something out there that
will make him talk. Perhaps you have only yet to find it.
STEP 1. Locate something that causes your dog to bark naturally. You could use a door bell, a
vacuum cleaner, or just a simple knock on the front door. Every dog is different. What makes YOUR dog bark?
STEP 2. Command your dog to "Speak" first, then use the item that makes him bark soon afterward. (It
might be best to have someone else ring the doorbell or knock when they hear you say "Speak".)
STEP 3. As soon as he begins sounding off (just as we predicted), tell him "Good boy (girl)!
Good Speak!" Then give him a food reward. He won't know why at first, but when you repeat this cycle over again, he
will eventually get it and you will no longer have to use the trigger.
